Teens who Use E-Cigarettes

Measurement Period: 2024
This indicator shows the percentage of 12th grade students who used an e-cigarette or vaping product during the 30 days prior to the survey.

Why is this important?

E-cigarettes are dangerous due to the chemical residue that is deposited in the lungs of smokers. Teen e-cigarette use is especially concerning due to the potential to develop an addiction to nicotine at a young age that continues throughout life. Additionally, according to research published in Pediatrics medical journal, youth who use e-cigarettes are over seven times more likely to begin using traditional cigarettes.
