The Riley Center

A Good Idea

Description

The goal of The Riley Center is to provide safe and confidential services for women in abusive relationships and their children. The Riley Center works with women from the point of crisis to achievement of self-sufficiency. Their services include a 24-Hour Crisis Line, The Community Office, Rosalie House, and Brennan House.

The Community Office offers drop-in services, education, and follow-up assistance to former clients. Services at The Community House include individual peer counseling, case management, advocacy, support groups, information, and referrals. Rosalie House is an emergency shelter for battered women and their children. It has 24 beds and houses victims for up to 12-weeks during which time residents have access to shelter, food, clothing, individual counseling, support groups, case management, parenting groups, employment referrals, and children's programs. Brennan House is a transitional housing program with 31 beds. Here, women who were formerly battered and their children may stay up to 18 months. During their stay, residents have access to individual counseling sessions, support groups, parenting meetings, housing search assistance, childcare, and legal services.
