Immunize LA Kids

A Good Idea

Description

The goal of Immunize LA Kids is to improve immunization rates among low-income Latino and African American children living in Los Angeles, California.

Immunize LA Kids focuses on creating culturally relevant interventions that address local barriers to immunization. An Immunization Practices Enhancement Team works to strengthen pediatric immunization practices in private physicians' offices, and community health promoters conduct outreach and education with parents and guardians of children. In addition, Immunize LA Kids participates in health fairs where they provide free immunizations and referrals to other health-related services, distribute culturally appropriate immunization materials, and conduct various media campaigns.
